Alpine Bliss offers you skiing in Châtel and the Portes du Soleil
Châtel is a traditional French alpine village, which is part of the Portes du Soleil, the largest cross border skiing area in the world. Châtel has an enviable snow record due to its position in the northern alps and it’s location relative to Mount Blanc. For the latest information see the snow reports for Châtel
We have skied in numerous areas including the Trois Valleys, Val d’Isere, Verbier, Saas Fee, Zermat and Whistler and yet we have chosen to settle in the Portes du Soleil. There is genuinely something for everyone from gentle blues to challenging off piste and even the infamous ‘Wall’ a steep mogul field which is not for the faint hearted! There are also Nordic skiing routes in the Abondance valley. There is always somewhere new to discover and we love the contrast between the quiet Swiss slopes, the high slopes of Avoriaz and the extensive skiing around Morzine and Les Gets. For the more experienced skiers a days tour of the Portes du Soleil is a real adventure. The 12 resorts link very well and the French have invested in efficient, speedy chair lifts.

For some a key element of their holiday is lunch on the mountain and the Portes du Soleil offers some of the best mountain restaurants that we have ever been too and we are happy to make recommendations and lunch time reservations if required.
